The piece brings attention to the way we hear/understand voices that emerge from the margins of what is considered acceptable/ beautiful/ worthy artistically, politically, socially. What do you hear when the margins speak to you? Is your heart open? Do you hear at all?

It's a part of a project "Ugly is never what I see"- series of paintings and drawings that explore the process of art making, with a special focus on the moments of artistic frustration and art pieces that are unfinished/abandoned. The project calls for attention, space, and care for exploring beauty in what is rejected and deemed unworthy not only artistically, but also politically and socially.

Canvas was discarded during artistic process and later rescued and worked on preserving parts of the initial painting. The piece encourages compassionate, careful, and empathetic engagement with what one encounters reminding viewers to take responsibility for the way they frame and reproduced what is deemed (un)worthy.
